In 2001, Lynn Reecer co-founded the Aboite New Trails, Inc., and under Lynn’s leadership, Aboite New Trails raised over $12M and built 20 miles of new bicycle and pedestrian trails throughout southwest Allen County. Her group won many awards for their innovative work including being named the national winner of  Oprah’s Big Give ABC affiliate contest out of 90 participating cities for raising the most money for their non-profit project.  Lynn was named the 2009 Citizen of the Year by the Journal Gazette for her 9 years of volunteer work and results on the trails. In 2010, Lynn led the merger to form The Fort Wayne Trails, which now boasts a 100+ mile trail system that serves over 300,000 residents and visitors. This same year, she and her husband invested in their first lake property on Syracuse Lake and have been “lakers” on the Kosciusko  lakes ever since. Lynn acquired the majority ownership of 70 year old Brookwood Cabinet Company in 2017 and launched Northeast Indiana Talent Attraction, Inc. in 2018. This successful business model led Encore Sotheby’s International Realty to acquire Reecer Properties in January 2019. Since the acquisition, Lynn has continued her focus on providing an elevated level of service for every client. This focus led her to earning the SRES (Seniors Real Estate Specialist) designation, held by only 1% of Realtors nationwide. SRES® designees have unparalleled training and experience in serving seniors (50+) with their real estate needs.

What makes a house a home to you?
The family or people in the home… people that love and support each other through their individual lives out in the world each day. I think it should be the safe, stress-free cocoon you come home to at the end of each day at work or school where you love to relax and enjoy each other and/or your time alone. This is why I think you should love your surroundings at home and outdoors at your home on your patio or deck; and invest the time and money in comfortable furniture, cozy throws, pillows, pretty reading lamps, wall art, a simple MUSIC system like Sonos and keep it clean and uncluttered.
#1 tip for a new homeowner:
Gather all the of the info that comes with the mechanicals, appliances etc. in one file/folder or binder; put the installation date and who replaced it  right on the mechanicals such as the water heater with a marker or labeler. And keep a spreadsheet of all of this and everything you do to the property as you remodel or make improvements.
Favorite thing to do or eat in Fort Wayne:
Well, we love our restaurants in Fort Wayne and we often go to Catablu since it is about 1 mile from our new villa in Covington Creek and it’s like Cheers to us. We always see lots of friends there. The food and vibe is really great  and they have the best bartender in city in my opinion!  I saw Trent helping an older gentleman customer at the bar with his Sudoku game recently. So sweet!
