Should You Sell Your Home This Spring? This article examines in a quantitative way the percentage of homes that sell throughout each season.  As expected, the most successful selling season based on percentage of homes under contact within 30 days of list is Spring.  Though this success is only by a single percent over the winter months.

Did You Get Your Zestimate? A much discussed calculation in our office – the Zestimate.  If you’re not familiar with the term, a Zestimate is an estimate of a home’s value based on an algorithm created by the website Zillow.  While Zillow provides plenty of data for potential home buyers and sellers to review in a quick and easy way, not everything published is as accurate as we’d prefer.  This article discusses the Zestimate and its “Median Error Rate” of 8%.  While 8% might seem like a reasonable margin of error for some – consider the purchase of a $500,000 home – 8% of its value is $40,000.
