Noblesville is the county seat of Hamilton County. It was also the first city established in Hamilton County.

It is home to several buildings on the National Register of Historic Places, including the Hamilton County Courthouse and the old Sheriff’s Residence and Jail.

The largest music venue in the state, Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center, is located in Noblesville. It can host over 24,000 concert attendees.

Noblesville was once noted for its flour mills, particularly the Noblesville Milling Company. Attendees of Noblesville High School are called “Millers”, referencing the city’s history.
